The Nand & Jeet Khemka Foundation

As a company whose heritage lies within the transforming markets, SUN Group's core values and experience benefit not only the stakeholders, partners and the companies within the Group, but also the economies, societies and communities in which it operates.

In addition to the community service programs and philanthropic activities that are encouraged at the local levels of its operating companies, SUN Group supports larger-scale philanthropic initiatives and the founders of the company have established several institutional vehicles through which they impact society regionally and globally.

SUN leverages its unique position within Russia and India not only for commercial development, but also within its philanthropic activities. One of the more innovative programs involves the coaching of young Indian chess champions by world renowned Russian chess masters. The combination of Indian talent and Russian coaching has produced several top players, including Pentala Harikrishna.

SUN also supports institutions that stimulate educated individuals to work together on civic causes. The Group’s involvement in Youthreach, a Delhi-based NGO that brings together around 1,000 volunteers to help over 50,000 disadvantaged street children, has been a key component in the Khemka’s philanthropy for the last ten years.

Leadership and ethics

One of the core themes of SUN Group's commitment to its community is building capacity for ethical leadership in transforming markets by addressing the younger generation. The Nand & Jeet Khemka Foundation has contributed to the establishment of two major business schools - the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad (along with Wharton, Kellogg and McKinsey), pictured above, and the Moscow School of Management (SKOLKOVO) (along with leading Russian businessmen).
