Dr. Newbery has over 18 years' experience in exploration for base and precious metals.  From 1990 to 1996, he was a Senior and then Principal Geologist with CRA Exploration-Rio Tinto Plc at Dugald River and Mount Roseby in the Mt Isa Block. Dr. Newbery led the team responsible from the discovery and delineation of the Mount Roseby copper deposits. Dr. Newbery then joined Pasminco Plc as Regional Exploration Manager Curnamona and led the team responsible for discovering a major new copper-gold system on the Benagerie Ridge. In 1999 Dr. Newbery joined the board of Lake Resources N.L. Australia as Executive Director Exploration, operating predominately in Sweden and India, establishing joint ventures with Zinkgruvan Mining AB, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rio Tinto Plc, and with BHP Billiton Plc. In 2002, Dr. Newbery recognised the economic potential of the PGM mineralization at the Boula PGM deposit and was a founder director of PMCI, which listed on AIM in April 2005.

Dr. Newbery received a BA in Combined Studies from Plymouth University and a Ph.D. in Geology from James Cook University, Australia.
