The Khemka family has
established the
The Nand & Jeet Khemka Foundation with the
strategic imperative to employ modern commercial
principles to create a more responsive and
entrepreneurial institutional framework for
social development.
Strategic initiatives have ranged across key
sectors, including children and youth issues,
education, healthcare, the environment and urban
community development. The Nand & Jeet Khemka
Foundation's initiatives are socially inclusive
and involve all elements of the community,
though they do not include programmes with
religious or political affiliations. The Nand &
Jeet Khemka Foundation is effecting this
development of the institutional framework for
social aid along several core themes of
engagement in order to create a longterm
sustainable impact. Informed by
the significant impact global warming may have
on the Indian subcontinent, Climate Change is
one of these core themes. As such, the Nand &
Jeet Khemka Foundation supports
the Energy and Resources Institute which is
creating an integrated energy security and
sustainability strategy for India. Additional
Climate Change initiatives include the Iceland
Climate Change Action Summit and
pan-governmental working groups on climate
change such as the Climate Change Philanthropy Action Network.
CCPAN promotes initiatives through strategic
philanthropy that create opportunities for
concrete action by businesses, governments,
NGOs, scientists and citizens to address global
warming.
A sister institution,
the Nabha Foundation focuses on the
transformation of key rural communities in India
through a holistic and integrated rural
development model that combines strategic
financial investments with localized initiatives
for social and economic empowerment. |
