SUN Group and its founders have been investing in technology for over a decade in India, Europe and the US. Currently the technology investment activities are executed both through the private equity franchises, such as Sequoia Capital India, and several strategic direct investments by SUN Group.

Clean Technology, BPO and IT services remain the strong focus for SUN Group's technology investment team. Several current strategic investments in these areas include FirstSource (BPO), Tejas (telecom equipment) and Mascon (IT services).

Within the Clean Technology sector, the Group is actively evaluating investments that will foster rapid commercialization of wind, solar, hydro, biomass, water management, waste-to-energy, fuel-cell, battery, and energy efficiency technologies. The substantial potential for the development of these technologies across emerging markets provide a solid foundation for the development of a private equity franchise for SUN.
